Canopy Street

In 2008, the City of Lincoln and Nebraska development company WRK LLC, partnered together to embark on a $550 million urban renewal project that enlivened its already popular Historic Haymarket district with new retail stores, hotels, offices, housing and the new Pinnacle Bank Arena. Canopy Street has become Lincoln's new center of gravity, attracting Lincoln's surrounding 300,000 residents and over 2 million annual visitors to experience this unique public/ private partnership. WRK executed two phases including the Canopy Lofts Building and the Railyard Complex followed by the Hyatt Place Hotel and Hobson Place Condominiums. This complex was completed in less than 24 months and included over $60 million in new construction. The Entertainment District houses over 10 bars and restaurants and includes an enormous outdoor screen called the CUBE.
